Generally, there are 3 types of home tutors. They are:

 Part-Time Tutors
These are mostly current university students who have scored very well in their previous major examinations. A younger group of tutor can be expected.

Full-Time Tutors
These are the tutors who take up giving home tuition as their full time job. They are mostly University graduates, with years of experience under their belt.

Ex-/Current MOE Teachers
These tutors have the experience teaching in schools.

Our matching service is free for students and parents, and you do not need to make any advance payments. You only pay based on the mutually agreed hourly rate for lessons delivered by the tutor. Our agency fee is charged to our tutors, and you may be required to make initial payments to Genius Mind for the first few lessons, with clear payment details provided when confirming a tutor engagement.

In short, you are only required to pay for the lessons at the agreed hourly rate. No additional fees are required.

You may choose to pay the confirmed tutors in cash, cheque, via bank transfer, PayNow, or PayLah!, depending on your agreement.

Our agency fee is charged to our tutors, and to facilitate the collection of agency fees, we kindly request your cooperation to make payment for the first few lessons (50% of the first 4 weeks) directly to Genius Mind. Afterward, you can make payments directly to the tutors for the remaining lessons, with clear payment details and methods communicated to you upon confirming the tutor engagement.

Absolutely, if you feel that the assigned tutor is not suitable or for any other reason you wish to discontinue the tuition, you can contact us. As we follow a non-contractual obligation policy, there won’t be any additional charges incurred

Yes, you can postpone lessons. However please do inform the assigned tutor and Genius Mind in advance so that we can arrange for a reschedule for you.

Genius Mind advises our tutors to avoid postponing lessons unless there is a valid reason, such as sudden illness or medical emergencies. We encourage our tutors to notify you at least 24 hours prior to the next lesson if there is a need to postpone, and to make up for the missed lesson within the next 7 days.

We also encourage open communication between you and your tutor to establish a healthy scheduling system and reach a consensus on any postponement issues.

Usually during the first lesson, our tutors will assess the students academically. From there, they will give suggestions to what kind of materials will you need to purchase.

If you already have tuition materials (assessment books, worksheets etc), please show it to the tutor during the first lesson.

Genius Mind strongly encourage our clients and tutors to communicate this clearly to tutors beforehand to prevent misunderstandings.
